What is LEED®?
LEED® (Leadership in Energy and Efficiency Design) is the green building standard of choice for Federal agencies and state and local governments nationwide. LEED® gives building owners and operators the tools they need to have an immediate and measurable impact on their buildings’ performance.
What is LEED® for Existing Buildings: Operations and Maintenance? LEED-EB:Operations and Maintenance differs from other LEED® rating systems in that it focuses on the Operational rather than the Reconstruction of a building. It is the beginning of a continuing process for the life of an existing building.
What are the benefits of LEED-EB:Operations and Maintenace?
LEED helps building owners and managers solve building problems, improve building performance, and maintain and improve this performance over time. LEED® reduces cost streams associated with building operations, reduces environmental impacts, and creates healthier and more productive employee workspaces
What are the overall costs of LEED-EB:OM® Impementation and Certification?
The overall cost of LEED-EB implementation and certification ranges from $0.00 to $6.46 per square foot of floor space, with an average of $2.43 per square foot. These results are not correlated with the level of certification achieved but the pre-LEED-EB implementation performance of the building. (Leonardo Academy White paper, 2007)
